As some of you may know, I joined Mdogg's clan iB for a short period. I knew none of the players in the clan had ever CW'd but I thought I could help Mdogg train them into an actual clan. I quickly realized that none of them had any motivation to actually improve their performance. Furthermore, their morale in the recent funwars (not to be mistaken for an actual clanwar) was terrible. Mdogg was specifically the reason for the low morale because of his toxic attitude on TS. He goes into a game assuming he will lose and then drowns the players on his side in negativity ensuring that result. In small pub games he never plays seriously and spends most of the time afk until leaving 10 min after he joins. Oh but he's not afk, hes there, just not doing anything for the brief moment he's taking space on the team. Eventually one night I was playing several 1v1's against Geeti and he joined. It was now me and him vs Geeti so I decided to watch what Mdogg would actually do. Geeti didnt have an Airstrip or something so I gave him an apc to fight Mdogg's mrls. Geeti won the fight by 25hp and then immediately left whining that it was my fault. That's when I left iB. The next week or 2, Mdogg was strongly motivated in these small pub games. Not to help his team win, but specifically to fight against me. I thought to myself if I'm the only reason Mdogg has to actually play a gg, so be it.

Today, I was fighting a 2v1 and holding my own real well. I got a flamer in their base and was keeping the 2 of them stuck in their base repairing. Mdogg surprised me and c4'd a building. Surprised me again when he tried to kill a hotwire. I thought he might actually pursue the victory but was soon mistaken. The rest is highlighted for easy reading, enjoy!

If you don't like the way mdogg and his clan plays, you have the right to leave it and that's what you did. People can play any way they want in pub games, we've never punished someone for playing his style unless it was harming someone or the team on purpose.

I'm not defending myself at all. I did abuse powers. I had absolutely no justification for doing so. He can do whatever he pleases ingame. Just stating facts.

Also, in addition to being removed as a mod, I am now banned from TS and across all IRC channels including the #rencorner lounge and the #rc-aow public channel for calling you the bitch you are. Technically the ban is justifiable as 'mod disrespect' even though I did nothing to disrespect you from TS or IRC after the incident. However not even the hackers that have been caught have ever suffered such an extensive ban, and that gives me great pride.

I agree with all u00fzTar said, 24hour ban to get down should be fine. Some peoples did break far more rules and werent even close to a month ban.

What should I be paying attention to? The dwindling player counts that get worse because of the indifference of a supposedly strong player and clan leader? I care strongly about the quality of the game and the satisfaction of players in it which are both hurt when Mdogg joins a game of less then 8 players.

To actually quantify the potential of losing more players would take far more psychological analysis than either of us could really comprehend. I would have to say, however, the potential in my act of copy and pasting 114 !kill commands on Mdogg in a game of 4 players that was just 1 minute from ending is greatly less than your act of a month long ban of one of the server's greatly respected players.

I never asked to be banned. But once you actually did start banning me from everything 1 by 1, I volunteered for the few you missed (leftover IRC channels, TS). And the fact that I was actually banned over this Rene-drama bs does give me great pride.

Since before Valentine's day, the only 'drugs' I've had is a single blunt and a handful of dabs (single hit of hash). I was completely sober when Mdogg chose to continue being a bitch when I was actually trying to give him some TP. I was completely sober when I mouthed off at Manny. And I'm still completely sober as I write this.

After reading this whole thing Im just kinda disapointed that this even happened at all. Rencorner is a cool place to play ren and to see what was just put on display reminds me of the masturb8s situation from jelly oh some time ago. No one wants to play on a server where mods are just abusing powers by giving people tanks they didnt earn or abusing a command like !kill and then to just flat out call mdogg a bitch like this in the game and then put it here on the forums just has me smh. 

 

People are saying people have done more and been banned for less time and thats shocking to me. If I were to join rencorner and start cussing people out and start hacking the server (might as well be what you did here with !kill) I wouldnt expect to be let back in like ever. 

 

Guess what? The days of competitive ren are over. If mdogg or anyone else frankly wants to hang out in the base and get the occasional building kill so be it, or contribute very little who cares? How much money is on the line? None so who cares. Mdogg is good btw, I dont think theres anything to prove, your good too beer, there isnt anything to prove here, just play and let play. 

Imo just stop here. I know this isnt a reflection of rencorner as a whole and how the leadership is. Just respect the decision and come back strong with a good attituide because honestly with the state ren is in now Id hate to see ANYone leaving the game or not being involved at all anymore. Do it for the love of the game.

I will throw my 2 cents into this

to ban him for even a week is to much assuming the 1 month ban is serious? I consider myself a regular on rencorner for a specific time of day (barely hits 6v6 consistently)
the real problem are players like rambo6/bryan/matenon etc those players dont benefit the server/game they are dead weight and it hurts the server overall because people dont want them on their teams
I get mad and I say things (obvious enough) but the player base of the server isnt strong due to ren is dying
is mdogg going to quit because of it; clearly not or any one else for that matter

and im not trying to call any one out but you see people overly active on the forum compared to in game and seem to have the same weighted say of vanilla or maps etc
so hindering the playing numbers is dumb imo even if you just wanted to mute him for a week even is better than any ban

because look at the games played (barely tp in public matches/barely holding consistent high player count) every game wont be great matches
but to say owell its just public games they always dont have to be competitive thats not whats discussed here

I also wanted to plead for a lesser time-frame ban, not because i approve of what happened but because that Renegade dosen't need more players to lose or because hes a great player i respect. But after reading Volcom's post, i agree that until apologies are being handed out, he will not be allowed on Rencorner, whether it be a day, a month or a year.
