rabidsnypr Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 (edited) So when did this rule apply on The hill map? People have been doing it since Renegade came out. edit: You should be more worried about snipers camping then hill camping Edited March 10, 2017 by rabidsnypr
masscarriers Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 It's been like this since October 2016, right from the Server Rules topic : Hourglass is now NO HILLCAMPING! Shooting the enemy base is NOT allowed, you may only shoot tanks up there! However, you CAN shoot their buildings from enemy side of the hill. It cripples the gameplay, people only rush arties/MRLS up the hill, kill ref/pp, and then it becomes a snipefest for another 30 minutes. 3
dippy Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 It's not exactly an uncommon rule. It means that people are forced to use more than one strategy to win Hourglass. The alternative being a race to the hill when you earn 450 credits: BORING.
Theboy Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I think mrls can hit any building like nod though on the hill (correct me if im wrong) and in that regard dont see much wrong with hill camping. That being said I dont mind the way it is now. Its super edged towards gdi now (assuming all teamwork is equal) imo. But this rule change has been in place for some time now. Really shouldnt come as a surprise.

creed3020 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 (edited) We had the same rule on all of my previous clan run public servers and n00bstories. Both of those communities' admin teams found that teamplay was crushed when Hourglass turned into a whorehouse. Lets focus on our teammates and what we can accomplish together, not what some rouge Arty/MRLS can do. I love Hourglass, heck I even like losing on Hourglass if it means a good defensive base camp. It's a really thrill repelling 10 flame tanks or Mammies! Edited March 15, 2017 by creed3020 1

Im just saying if both teams are working together imo gdi is better. Within seconds you can have multiple mammoth tanks hitting obb. Stanks dont have the range to be effective until they are about halfway down the hill or more. Gdi can put shots on the obb from the hill forward. Again just my thoughts, I think the rule as it stands is just fine 1
