Mikey Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 So, the World Health Organisation will now recognise excessive gaming as a 'Gaming disorder' and will become a new classification of disease. shaitan Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 I guess those Brits don't like people using Comcast in Pennsylvania. I can't watch the video lol. Bastards, I bought BBC dino flicks from them before.
visara1 Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 This is great news. I've been trying to rack up the mental health disorders so I can be President or at least congressman. 1
Discipile Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Golly, I better go spend thousands to get clean! Its another plague! So many infected in a short time! In all seriousness though, what the actual hell? Why exactly, in detail, did they decide to classify gaming as a disease? Next thing you know, someone's going to run for office with their primary goal being "end the gaming disease". Just one more that parents can use to scare their children to stop playing video games.
warlord83 Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Crazy as it sounds but any thing we do over and over again to the detriment of our life can be considered a disease.
ehh Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 with that been said, 20 hours a week is nothing. 3 hours on a weekday, then 5+ on a weekend, doesnt seem like an issue :L
Mikey Posted June 19, 2018 Author Posted June 19, 2018 I saw on the news they were talking about a kid who was so addicted to his gaming he was not eating, became violent to his parents when they tried to get him away from his computer, and he would urinate in bottles in his room so he didn't have to leave his computer. I guess maybe that's where the line is drawn!
Itai795 Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 I didn't read the details, but I'm pretty sure* that they don't consider gaming as a disease, but what does count is gaming addiction. Like in any addiction, you can do whatever you want, but when it starts to hurt you or takes too much time away from your responsibilities - that's where the line is drawn (that's my layman definition). * People can always surprise me...
ehh Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 with further research, its just the bbc with their agenda driven bullshit that cites the 20 hours death to the bbc
