Renegade server changes

Marathon server IP is 192.223.24.250:5001

Snipe server IP is: 192.223.24.250:7003

CW server IP is: 192.223.24.250:6000

The Teamspeak is still the normal, only because those dickheads won't help me figure out why it refuses to run on that newer server. IRC you can still use the same 208.115.205.106 IP(or that new 192 IP).

Speaking of that, we're testing out an NFO server, is why the changes.

what would be the benefit if everything goes well?

For one 4 core(4GB RAM/400GB Harddrive) if we get this during the sale would possibly cost us $326.76/year(if off the sale it'd be $356.90/year). If we ended up getting two 4 cores, then double that number.

Either way that's minimum $248.48(if we go with just the one 4 core that.'s $653.52/year less) less per year than Limestone's $75/month($900/year) one(our 208.115.205.106 IP).

The main issues I have:

  • It's only 1 400GB harddrive(you know my luck, and I like having other harddrives to back things up to), which I have partitioned atm so it's like what the Marathon PC normally is. I just brought over all the KF/l4d2/AlienSwarm stuff from the Mara box lastnight to see how it'll fill it up.
  • It's slow as goddamned molasses doing a Windows Update restart, twice now it took over two hours to come back online.
  • The very first Filezilla FTP transfer I did: it restarted the PC, I don't know what the fuck that was all about.

When I get the other stuff running, I'll see if it can run them RAM wise, may have to pay some extra and order another 1-2GB RAM. The reason I want something sort've similar: we can and do sometimes have to run backups of our servers on another PC during an issue causing the original to go down/die/hd failure/etc. To be fair: none of the VPS's are similar in regards to RAM, we got 32GB ram per physical server currently to be able to run anything we want.

Do masses and watch the SFPS ingame, and compare your pings to your normal pings(from before Monday to currently)

Damn we should have organized an event to test it, hopefully many peoples will join during the testing time.

I currently have no time to play but i see, i have now 120 ping instead 150-180

EDIT: i just tested SFPS on RC and MPF, both servers with me was 4 players, RC was more stable 59FPS and only went down to 58FPS once, while MPF SFPS was wanky and even jumped down to 57FPS

MPF was playing Mesa and RC was playing Volcano_RXD

Now that I think about it, it may be cheaper to move that ovh 144 pc(85+25 windows license) to the original 208 pc Mara box(75 but windows license is already included).

Sitting at 86 ping, was on 90(don't live in the UK anymore), although as Eric says I had huge troubles switching weapons(even without scroll wheel), this was with me as the only player
