It'll play like renegade as in you defend your harvy, buy characters and tanks but with a bonus. It'll have some RTS aspects as well, you will have to build the buildings, walls and so on.

It'll also look a tad like Borderlands I guess and it most likely won't have the Free Aim (v key by default) that Renegade has.

This. I really hope that we have the option to play in third person and use free aim.

Also I really have my fingers crossed that the game doesn't include any micro-transactions. If they were only skins (that are also earnable through grinding the game for free) then it wouldn't be that big of a deal. At the same time if the game isn't straight up F2P I don't feel that MTX should even be in the game at all.

I don't like the whole cartoon style graphics in these games, however I thought borderlands wasn't too bad but i'm not sure about this.

I don't mind micro-transactions as long as it's not "pay 2 win" sort of deal, if it's like cosmetic stuff, then sure I dont' really care about that stuff. I also hope they allow us to create our own maps (like say a recreation of Field/Under for example) and skins etc. similar to Renegade.
