That's the question I asked before we even put in SD. It wouldn't really solve the problem globally across every map of long maps where nothing happens. The only people who seem to be upset are those who snipe for 3 hours in a row on Field....

That's the question I asked before we even put in SD. And did you had the answer on that question before you introduced SD to the server? It depends on the answer if SD was the right choice, I guess. As I said before, I still haven't experienced SD on the maps without base defences because most of the time they are over within an hour. And even without the SD those maps do usually end quickly because we are able to buy tanks and weapons without buildings. Stalemates are, as far as I know, quite rare at RenCorner. If you are convinced that SD is the right choice, then I'll stop my part in this discussion. The only request that I then have is that instead of 1 hour, SD will start after 1,5/2 hours.

Whitedragon Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Disabling repairs is better than disabling base defenses since it'll work on all maps or when they're already dead. It probably needs to be harder to activate sudden death, though.
c0vert7 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 If you want games to end faster, get rid of !tank and !weps..... set a time limit.... up the chance of spy crates, put in more crates like base defenses offline. Sudden death is not promoting teamwork, no one tries to end a game they just wait for sudden deaht and then they buy tanks. Its majorly flawed, its very easy with a good team to kill enemy tanks and kill buildings, but now they just have to keep their tanks repaired and push the enemy tanks back until sudden death. The only way I can see sudden death fair is to put it in a crate, make it last for 2 minutes and its all back to normal. 1
