2024 server bills info

So, as you guys may have noticed.. some shit happened that threw my plans into the crapheap in August...then some other shit happened and I just said "fuck it, I'm already in debt for medical, I may as well go into more debt for Rencorner and get way better server PC's to compete".

Right now...we are good money wise. We only have to really worry about $20.07/month until any bills are due in August.

@Itai795 had a good idea to change the donations stuff around to pay me back some. $1103(includes $56 in paypal fees) is that number.

No real timeframe on this one, will let it run, and see where we stand when we need the bills due again in August..and more expensive ones in December.

I had a fun conversation with the forum people again, they think we're going to pay for another server license($499+$199) to get a "free" year. Which, is funny because they didn't mention anything about a refund. I'm giving up on them, we may just ditch this forum this year.

To keep you guys in the know about recent events:

That $20.07 server we were getting for @ice187dna's Team Fortress 2 servers and Ark servers went to crap. OVH pushed out a firmware update last month, and we missed that email. So, the server was not restarted to notice any problems until April 4th. That firmware update will no longer run Windows Server 2022 on their "older" hardware, which was that server. I was in talks with them for awhile, then I became an asshole when they refused to fix anything...and expected us to buy a brand new server for 3x the price.

That $20.07 no longer applies, we found a pretty decent server from Hetzner here. I added on an extra 1TB SSD for $8.56 more. It should cost us about $48.46/month. We paid an "identification fee" of $20 to Hetzner, since I don't have a passport(would've been free). When we get that invoice, I'll edit the donations stuff to reflect that billing per month.

What's funny.. is OVH's lowest would be around $60...but still missing that spare 1TB SSD. We gonna take over the world, one server at a time.

I dove into what I could find of Invision to phpBB conversions, and it looks like if you are taking the content to phpBB 3.x, there are some converters out there that will work, but for 4.x or newer you'd need to use a conversion service (yuck.) https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=2613406
