Whats Wrong?

Hi guys, I have been playing daily and I have noticed many big changes to the server notably the BB commands and general in-game experience is different to what is typical to Rencorner. The random storm plus poll UI (MPF stuff etc) is what I personally don't like. Vanilla Ren is great so I wonder why we changed to this especially when no one asked for it. Can someone explain the situation?

We didn't have much of a choice on that. Us not upgrading caused a semi split in the Renegade mods awhile back. Then when Steamers came out, we had to upgrade in order to get onto the newest scripts, to be able to use that player forwarder.

Things are not finished on it, but this weekend made us force the new server abit earlier. Do you like cat team hampering to destroy maps? No? That is why. He no longer can, and if he does find a way to bypass that ban; it'll be more hassle than it's worth for him(and others).

It's going to happen, at this stage we aren't going backwards. It wasn't ready, but you guys will just have to deal with it until it's done.

 

Crates: those were all turned on to see what people will like or dislike for the new ones.

Poll UI: it's either that small attention-getting one or the one that freezes the map.

Money crate gives more cash, it's fun.

The message informing of a new crate is fun.

The Blown fuse that turns the power down that is overall nice except for the super annoying alarms almost making some people quit.

The weather one with nukes made my Bluetooth headphones crash 2 times 😂. I think the fog weather is nice but it's the 100ish nukes explosions the problem (could it be just one?).

Haven't played enough yet to see other crates

Thanks for the explanation shai, for the greater good of saving Ren then. I assume that all the servers have the same configs now so the Steam players don't face any issues? If so, that's why our server is now MPF look-alike.
As for this cat guy, never played with him. The storm is fun but without the nuke spam IMO as Marc said. There are also no kill sounds anymore. The poll UI which causes distraction is what I was referring to as the first minute of the game is what mostly decides the outcome of the map. 
If these things can be addressed with the consent of the player base, it would be awesome but if not, meh then  the "golden" days of pre-steam Ren are gone.

I really don't see how you can compare this server setup with mpf. Yes there are some new things being tested. The crates will be fine tuned. The poll window is already gone.

Poll is gone temporarily until I will find old vote ratio from old BRenBot.

I have different code :raawr: Well its actually set to 70% and with forced poll it worked nicelly.
