Packet loss problems with Renegade Marathon

Maybe you should stop using VPNs and smurfing in game and it will improve your response time.

Im using VPNs trying to reduce packetloss on OVHs side. WTFast improved my connection but i dont want to engage in another subscription so im testing arround with Freeware.

 

How does not smurfing improve my response time? Is there a special custom routing for the User LolOm?

Someone claimed ingame that im washed. i explained to him that my connection is so bad i cant play the game.

  1. Hits wont register (infantry and Vehicles)
  2. Alot of times my Hottie can only place 5 Mines instead of 6
  3. Sometimes i carry only 1 remote on my engi/hottie that i can actually throw
  4. Sometimes i throw a remote and can actually see that its thrown just to have it back in my hand the next frame
  5. i cant even throw c4 on MCT because it will land somewhere else
  6. when i touch other players i lag out so hard i rubberband in a swirl
  7. Missels that are not even close to me hit me.

I Know rubberbanding has always been a part of renegade multiplayer but what i experience is unplayable.

Whatever the reason is for me performing poor, I came to the conclusion that I can no longer deliver the performance that I and other players expect and are accustomed to from the name LolOm.

 

I Hope u can understand my reasons for another Nickname.

oh and  i play with muted audio now because the killsounds and madsounds piss me off. so i cant hear becons nor whats happening arround me. Its my own choice but still contributs to the fact of my poor performance.

Also having similar issues. It did get better earlier in the year but reverted again at some point

i live beside the server and noticed double ping a few times lately. problem is, its not consistent but i do feel something is going on server-side.

By your previous screenshot it say your issues starts at your ISP. You had packet loss on second hop/router or how name it.

Last time when I checked your ping u had 23ms.

It looks like its specific ISP/peering issues since I havent these problems. Server is same, location is same and not everyone is affected.

Also the ping in the upper right corner of the screen (in-game) that keeps changing is always different from !ping command.

After Many Complaints i send to Telekom and encouraging my IRL friends who had the same problems with bad connection to USA to complain too it seems to be fixed :). We had complete Outage of internet for 1Hour two weeks ago and after internet was back on it was fixed. :)

i Would like to encourage everyone who posted in this thread and had the same issue to test their connection again and give feedback if it is fixed for you guys too or not. If a view others can confirm the fix maybe Rencorner can send out an E-mail to inform everyone about the fix. Maybe we can reach players who stopped playing because of the lags to come back and play ren with us again :)
