I was working on that, until some wankers decided to be asses today. If you want to Tristt you can do so. Keep in mind again, Jelly's are all big games, their small game stats are a little broke.

nah jelly's are ordered; we have an overall win/loss, and then a small/large division too...tbh i don't think having starting credits is an important part of making rencorner 'unique', when you guys have the veteran system in place, the !buy command, the sound commands etc.as far as the 'donate' argument goes, forcing GDI to rely on donations and teamwork when Nod simply has to defend for 40 seconds before steamrolling with arts doesn't sound fair to me. It costs GDI 1950 credits + 4 players in agreement to co-ordinate donations for 2 meds and a hotwire. It costs Nod less to get any combination of 4 arts/3 arts and 1 tech/2 teched arts. The results could be extrapolated pretty accurately from there i reckon lol.

I think most people would be happy for perhaps say 150 credits start on rush maps + mesa, eh?

 

Just clicked on the canyon nod text file, the amount of games ended in under 4 minutes is just dumb tbh, im sure most people would like to actual play the map and not just repair for 3 minutes till it ends =[

I am saying it would end the debate here over starting credits. We can have 2 servers with different setting and let people decide.

Well I can tell you guys this much. The majority of our server population isn't on the forums. We cannot just make changes like this without it negatively effect our player account. If you guys want things to be stock and like clanwars where things are more even for each side I can put up another server. It is your guys choice.

While I like your idea Rob, I agree with Italy,  It would split the player base.  We just don't have enough players to do that and thrive.

350 cred is one of the uniqness of RC so don't take it away.

I agree starting credits are too high. Every game is either instant hummer/buggy rush or near instant arties. I'd say change them to 100-200.

The majority of the people in your server like rencorner as a whole and hate jelly/mpf most likely. 90% of the server is the !tank command, back pack drops, vet system, sound effects, and the buy command.

Switching to like 100 credits would make the game perfect.. Its not full commwar settings.. If you give everyone 200 you will have people sitting around waiting for a buggy on Nod. 100 is the perfect amount to not have people cry that they are broke/bored.

See above comment.. It is not a uniqueness. There is plenty of other stuff rencorner has.. n00bstories had 350 starting credits for a long time. So it has been done before.

Fuck uniqueness.  Who cares?  If we do as Jelly or mpf on starting credits, we still won't be Jelly, just have the same start credits.

Exactly! I think jelly is 0 and I have know clue what the fuck MPF does. It changes every time I join haha... Just make it 100 and stop crying. It is more fun to actually go out and shoot people with infantry rather than buying tanks. You take away an important fun part of the entire game. It is an insult to renegade itself to take away harv battles an infantry wars at the start of the maps.

Your getting back to the same argument that started this topic...  Advantage!  You want 150 credits for chem sprayers, when it is a fact nod has an advantage, nice going.

 

IMO, "0" starting credits is the best.  The beginning of the game belongs to the infantry and destroying the harvey to prevent the enemies economy from thriving.  Anyone whose played a map like City (flying) knows that killing the harvey is devastating on the enemy, especially when it is killed over and over.  If you happen to be on the side that never sees a harvey drop, you know how frustrating that can be.  It is the way Renegade should be played.

But then Nod still have an advantage because their main vehicle (arty) is cheaper than GDIs main vehicle (med), so unless the whole of Nod is skipping around making fairy cakes, they can still get at least one arty out before/at the same time that GDI brings out a med

 

Edit: also, since engineers have shotguns, I reckon 3 engineers by the pp tunnel entrance would counter a chem sprayer rush

 

It all comes down to teamwork in the end
