I just suggested moving that as well, but then rethought that maybe not so many players actually pressing Delete key to show how many remains until the next rank, so this is not such a big problem though
Xylaquin Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Getting used to something isn't really a valid justification, it doesn't negate the fact that things could be improved. If my car starts making a noise, but continues to work, I could just get used to it, sure... or I could fix it. People who actually care about seeing vet points are the kind of people that take an interest in how the game works, so they're already going to know the keyboard shortcut, or the server commands to toggle it on, or even just know what gets points anyway. For the rest of us, showing vet points are just another example of spam.
cooldude7 Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Regarding the tiny +VP messages in the top left, has anyone noticed it hallucinating? I've sometimes just joined a game, done nothing yet but buy an engineer, and it'll pop up and be like "Hey +7.45 VP points for you!" (or whatever), and there's definitely no chance I did anything to earn VP yet.
WNxH3adSh00t Posted October 21 Posted October 21 (edited) This thread is basically "a small message in a corner lets me know I did something and it bothers me extremely". It's literally half the size of a line in the score tab. Edited October 21 by WNxH3adSh00t

Cluttered chat has been a pain in the proverbial for a long time. Truth is I think very few people actually look at the rc points info. Hence having it in a little corner is good for many. i did use it quite frequently for situations when i´m chasing something, like an sbh/tech sneaking into my base or a stank/apc whatever. and then i hit it a bit but dont kill but maybe lose sight, have speed disadvantage etc and then when i see my veterans points going up it´s proof for me my team has dealt with the threat i was chasing. and that´s a lot harder now so i´m also not the biggest fan. 1
OctoberWar Posted October 23 Posted October 23 (edited) There is a better solution. I'm not sure if it's easy or not. There could be an option for all players to enable/disable veteran points.. meaning this option adding so that anyone who doesn't like this feature will have it disabled. My personal opinion is remove everything by default, so that only radio commands/chat/team chat/private messages remain, then people who want other things can toggle them. This idea would mean that communication is much cleaner and every player, by default, can see all teamwork coordination and be on a level playing field. For the players who do use the other stuff, they can simply toggle the other stuff. Eric made the good point that it would be too much to have each item toggleable. The solution to that problem would simply be to decide what extra stuff is actually needed. Whilst I don't have any interest in the vet points system, evidently some people do, so now we know that the vet points is something that should be toggleable.

Sup with that? That's not new. It always happened it's probably some weird conditions in the code like "wow you'be been alive for 10 min, here some points" and sometimes you get "+0.00 pts" for no reasons
