Ping gets high when i join

ping to server is good 100-200(for me at least) before i join,but when i join it  jumps to over 500,and sometimes to over 1000 so i cant join like today i couln't join any game.Internet connection is good ,i can join other servers but not this one.Any help is much appreciated .

Could be a slow connection point between Lebanon and USA

my friend plays it no prob so it must be my isp,i'll just go learn how to pull the trigger half a second early
