Ok..

 

 

I've got a laptop here when i turn it on it takes me to 'Error loading operating system' I dont have any ORIGINAL disks to reinstall it but I do have a download of windows 7 I was wondering if It would be possible to install it onto this laptop with the use of an external hard drive? I'm in unknown territory here so im useless lol any help would be great!

 

Here are the specs of the laptop:

 

Memory: 1 GB Brand: Lenovo Processor Type: Intel Celeron M Product Line: Lenovo ThinkPad Processor Speed: 1.80 GHz Model: ThinkPad T43 Hard Drive Capacity: 80 GB MPN: Operating System: Windows XP

Lol this laptop isn't very good.

 

Rz, I have put the win7 files onto my external hard drive but I just dont know the next step :/.

 

I'm genuinely stumped lol

the pc you are trying to install windows 7 on is runnng extremely low specs, and wont run windows 7, it does however meet the minimum requirement for vista

It will go, just slow.

 

If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes:

  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor

  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)

  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

The other thing you will find Mikey is issues with updates. You will probably have to manually download service pak 1. If you get that far I can help with that.

I sorted it eventually but thanks for the posts i'll keep them in mind If i ever run into this again, I've somewhat improved in this area now :P
