Future Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 So two days ago my screen was turning white it froze and there was all these red, purple, green, lines everywhere. Thereafter my computer would just restart. Before it even restarted it would lag, every time I move the mouse, it was like a 5 second latency. So has anyone had this problem? And even know how to fix it? I did try searching on google, the only problem I think could have happen were that my capacitors are blown up. Or that my computer was overheating. So, I left a fan on full facing the computer all night and all afternoon (My Room was Cold) and when I turned it on the computer was running fine, and I could play my games without any white screen. Another thing that happened was that my computer couldn't find any wireless networks. But my laptop can find all wireless networks. It's only my computer. Restart the system and when the system is in pre-boot mode rapidly press the F8 key, keep pressing (Not holding it) until a menu comes up, there it MIGHT ask you to chose an OS if you have more than one installed, chose Windows 7. If that didn't come up, don't worry, it should say Windows Advanced options menu, Safe Mode and it should be a black screen with whtie text. next you need to use the arrow keys to select "Safe mode with networking" what this will do is start up your computer in safe mode, on the default Administrator accountn that was on your PC since day 1, now in Safe mode you can only do a vareity of things, but however you cannot browse the web or play games, so you need to find the problem. Log in to "Administrator" wait for it to load then go to Start<System Tools<System Restore click on it. Restore the system.The system restore is designed to roll back the registry and executable files. User data is not to be harmed by this process. This is meant to find the Virus and allow your computer to deal with it.
dronez4 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 My hardware knowledge is very low.. However my software is quite high.. Did you ever try making sure ur driver is up to date? this stuff has happend to me before and i did feel stupid after. try it out.

This is meant to find the Virus and allow your computer to deal with it. so basically to sum up what rue saying is, that u want me to go to safe mode with networking and do a system restore the thing is that there is no virus in my computer. also what did u find in my specs? and do you guys have any clue why i cant find any wireless networks
Evo Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 The System restore will search for a virus, but if you're certain you don't have one then you can still do it and it will repair it to it's last functioning state. Zemki Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 System restore holds copies of files and data in the registry, all system files, user profile, and certain other data. Virus executables tend to be in those areas, which is why system restore can 'rid' many viruses. That said, the whiting of the screen being corrected by a fan dedicated to cooling suggests that overheating is the cause. Specifically what did you cool with the fan; the case or the monitor? If the case, then adding another case fan to exhaust heat is needed. If the monitor, its more tricky. A CRT could have a buildup of dust causing heating issues (had that myself). LCD or LED overheating solutions I have little idea on other than a small fan just blowing on/into it. Looked up the computer on hp's site, and it states that it has a built in wireless mini-adapter, though its absent from the specs you posted. So either its not in the computer or its not being detected by the computer. Not being detected may be due to a missing driver, but first check to see if there's a mini-adapter in a pci/pci-e slot on the motherboard. If there is one, all you should have to do then is identify the card by model or serial number (both are usually on a sticker on the component) and search that for drivers. Beyond that, I'd suggest going wired by ethernet cable. offtopic, feels weird posting to assist outside a game.

I've noticed your running full HD resolution from a 5570 which is probably putting it under some strain when playing games. As for the Wireless issues, sounds like a driver / resource issue, however try going into `Network and sharing centre`, find your wireless adapter, right-click then properties. Check firstly that it is enabled, then click `check for new drivers`. All I can think of without actually looking at it sorry.

All I can think of without actually looking at it sorry. ive been using the same everything, for the past 3 and a half years. wirelss has been working from day1. now all of a sudden it doesnt wanna work.
Evo Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Get a webcam, and have Master look at it, he can tell you what do to, also, get Teamviewer8 and allow Master to control your desktop, he should be able to help you if you can allow him to do that
