AOW weekends

We will be trialing it this weekend. There will be 30 minute time limits, and everything else will be the same

 

It will be changed Friday at midnight/Sunday morning at 12. It will be changed back on sunday night/ monday morning at 12 also.Thought and opinions?

Will be interesting to see if others do, and how they adapt to 30min AOW from Marathon.

 

Obviously, standing around waiting for credits isn't really an option in AOW so some dedicated Marathon players may not like the more intense style of AOW.

i know alot of people hate >1 hour games , but 30 minutes is too short

server will become about pointwhoring, wait for first harvy load->buy tank->shoot whatever u see , then the team with most score wins......boring

and nukes will be better for the opposite (points for disarming)

this is no clanwar server , u like time , go play CW. we wanna have fun

What's the reason btw? Ingame activity has been great during weekends, why change what people like? Doesn't make any sense.

this is happening on the server sometimes you just join the game and you see ppl with 20k of score just from pointwhoring and they keep doing that for hours I still remember one game like a month ago it was field and it was runing for 3 hours and the scores were insane just pointwhoring.

imo aow can prevent that and force to work as a team to achive the game goals.

I guarantee if you just wait for the first harvy drop,

 

1. You'll never get it unless you go out and defend it.

 

2. The other team will !donate to get an APC, rape your base and you'll never get a tank.

 

I'm excited about trying 30min AOW here, it will promote teamwork over pointwhoring for sure and Renegade is 100% better with teamwork.

 

Let's start with 30 mins and see how it goes. Can always increase the time limit later.

I think 30 minutes is plenty and I think that is the best time to trial. We can change things after the initial trial

Had a couple of good games this morning with iTaLy, trist and Protos

 

Siege tho' suggested a few will need to get used to the time limit
