Mikey Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Not really a fan of it but each to their own 1
Gridloc Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 I like the point dynamic of AOW events. I have been on both the winning (4 shots from a Rocket launcher at the NoD Ref in Tomb = win by 3 points) and losing (Hourglass - Talking major smack about OldGrandDave taking our ref and how he could keep it because we were going to win the game with 2 minutes left.......we lost by like 5 points from arty whorring on the mountain.....pride, indeed, does go before destruction lol) end of this. I like the change of pace but some have noticed a drop off in numbers playing because of the switch to AOW. I can't say I've noticed this myself but the logs provide the facts. In my opinion? Keep it on the weekends - Grid 1
shaitan Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Gridlock, I don't know you, but I love you. You actually read some logs. *sheds a tear* 1
D4rX Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Weekends are usually the only times working people can play. And I prefer it to be marathon, pretty sure I'm not alone in this situation. 4
StJohn Gumby Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 I've really enjoyed the AOW weekends. But let's be honest, Marathon is a lot easier to play and requires no particular skill (unless you consider pointwhoring to be a skill). With the AOW games there has been a lot more teamwork, greater emphasis on team victory and generally more fun games. It's been noticable who hasn't been playing at weekends and it's frankly not a surprise. I don't really mind if the games are smaller in player count because the quality has been much better. VIVA AOW! Gumby 1

Volcom Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 This weekend will be marathon to see if our numbers improve.
StJohn Gumby Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Setting it to 30 mins would be even better
ehh Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 just trying to make the noobs stop crying !!!

CerealKlr Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I think that 30 minutes isn't enough time for that last comeback. I'm not sure why, but it always seems like the pointwhore team wins by time limit, when they are about to lose their last building at 30 minutes. 45 minute maps don't run into it as much. Doesn't make any logical sense, but thats the way it worked out for my AOW server way back in the day.
