Field repeat. Really?

Friday night, it was 3 hours of Field, waited until it ended so I could join... bam, field again. Silly explanations from the online mods ("D4rkz wants it" n stuff) and no real reasons. And Under, another hour taking map, is nextmap.

 

My Renny evening is wrecked.

 

And yeah, it's 9 ppl in rencorner, 23 in jelly, 25 in Ultra. Just saying.

 

EDIT:I'm just thinking, you just had 3 full hours of field, why would you force everyone else to play field again? What about those who'd like those many other maps in the rotation instead, that take maybe up to 30 mins max? What is the server rotation there for when mods just set the maps they like?

well the situation was: new map, arctic whatever, crashed twice, d4rkz asked if he should skip this to field and he got many ppl agreeing, so i guess its fine (thats how democracy works.)

A rotation is useless if you have someone snm'ing Field. It's not the first time he does that. 

And while it plays on field, IRC says its walls flying. That's not correct either. 

 

We just had a 3,5 hour long game on Field. A map gets ended by a moderator, and the next map is Field again. And when that map is over, it becomes Under. 

 

No shit people are starting to dislike that map. 

 

(It's not always a big deal btw. But you really need to watch it if the server just had the map, and how long people played it. Situations like this will fuck up the playercount as well.)

i do agree with that, but still what i said in my first post: the most of the ppl ingame liked the idea, so why it would be against them to NOT do it. majority wins.

I might give myself as a example. 

 

After the 3,5 hour long game, I left the server. Few minutes later returned to my pc to join the server again, and see that it is field again. 

 

The 3,5 hour long game had more then 25, 'till 40 players, ingame. Do you really think that all of those people that just played at RenCorner, would join the server again if they see it's the same map? Of course not, they will join either Ultra or Jelly. If you care about the server, and you want to keep it populated, you would think further then just a majority of 12 players ingame. (Or whatever the small number was.)

I am aware that you mods, ingame at that moment, liked field and were fine with it being played again. I am also aware that quite some people love field so much they'd have it as sex buddy.

 

But when a map seems to be bugged why would you not continue the rotation and take the admin's rotation's next map as next?It would already be a little bit of an ignorant act if you'd take some short map, like volcano, usually played after 15 mins. But yeah, as we know Field tends to take hours, and by taking field AGAIN after having played Field for full 3 hours - that's just a fucking ignorant thing to do, honestly.

well the strange thing is people always leave AFTER field on rencorner...so i think field is not only liked by d4rkz. the 2nd field ended with 24 ppl ingame, which isnt too bad i guess...

Let's be honest if D4rKz gets to !snm it's always going to be Field because that's his favourite map.

 

It's not a case of the 'majority' deciding or a moderator 'persuading' other players to replay his favourite map, it's a matter for the senior member of staff ingame to determine. In this case Feda.

 

I'd like to hear why the next map in the rotation wasn't the one set by the 'Senior' Moderator and why a more junior moderator was allowed to set the nextmap to his favourite map.

If you had !snm to the next map in the rotation rather than allowed him to !snm to Field again this wouldn't even be a topic.
