Guest rackz Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 (edited) Yo, heres a graphics mod i have edited for Renegade. I kept all original colors. My goal was to give Renegade a deeper and sharper look wich turned out pretty good. Note: this is configurated for y 40" screen, if you have some problems with a smaller screen let me know. You can even enable/disable the graphics mod ingame by pressing F12 To install it drag all files and the SweetFX folder to your Renegade Install Directory (where the Game.exe is) Known bug: If you have Fraps running in the backkground and switching to desktop and going back ingame then the graphics mod wont work (you caan fix by rejoining) Screenshots were taken as .BMP by accident and converted to .JPG wich ruined the picture quality, but im to lazy to change that now :P Here are some pictres to compare, the first one is splitted, left side is original and right side has the effect applied, the second picture is a original screenshot and the third picture has the graphics mod applied. On the first picture, compare the mountain wich shows the effect at best. Download here Edited October 11, 2016 by rackz
Peshmerga Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 I get this error, but it still works and starts the game.
Guest rackz Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 (edited) Well, i need to check this tomorrow. You might need the DirectX9 August (or any DX9 version). Will check after work, if you got some spare time, try the DirectX9 solution. The old DirectX version you download and it extracts to a path you pick. Open up that path and run the setup.exe. It worked fine for the BHP (Red Alert Mod) since they are modding ren and have this version of directX installed aswell to use 3DSmax for 3D modeling. If it doesnt work, to get rid of that error just delete the "d3d9.dll" Edited October 11, 2016 by rackz
Peshmerga Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Thanks for your answer. DirectX9 didnt work for me, I just tried it.
Guest rackz Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 (edited) In the renegade folder, try this: (i guess you use Win10) and do you use Fraps in the background? rename: dxgi.dll to dxgi.dll.bak rename: dxgi.fx to dxgi.fx.bak Edited October 11, 2016 by rackz
Peshmerga Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 WOW, thank you man, that worked for me. Yes Windows 10 and no fraps in the background.
Guest rackz Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 (edited) Did the Shaders work aswell? It might be to sharp if you have a smaller screen than 40" inch. You can tweak the settings by editing the settings text file /forgot its full name, im not on PC :P Just remember to press F12 ingame to enable\disable it to see the difference :P Edited October 11, 2016 by rackz
Peshmerga Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) Yeah shaders work as well and true, its a bit to sharp, but Im gonna check the settings in that text file. Thank you! Those settings are so cool :D Edited October 12, 2016 by Peshmerga
