i mean this really comes down to why - as aprilwar - do you always try to be the biggest toxic asshole possible and exploit every rule to the max and sometimes beyond in a 20 year old game. and btw, even if the ban here wasn´t warranted, mud is still a very good mod who usually does try to balance teams,  more than most other mods do these days. we as a community should be grateful he´s willing to do this and he doesn´t deserve your bullshit at all.

I want to (generally) support mud here as April gives a very one sided image, which is understandable (from April's point of view), but not very fair when looking at the broader image of mud's modding actions. Mud is a great mod in my opinion, and everytime I see him in game I'm happy he's there and I know things are handled well.

The med/light+e+rail rule Iv never agreed with, why punish players for having a better mechanical ability to be able pull it off, get gud and learn it, its really not that demanding to do, its part of the game, always has been, just embrace it, no other server/league ever disallowed it.

Sure you can nail other meds//lights, but your investing 800 + 1000 to kill a med/light with no ability to heal yourself, its highly situational and only works some of the time, not to mention this is a team game, its not just about "1v1s" on the field, the rav can get nailed, and give a tank to an enemy, its a risk that player takes, sure in the video, April got away with killing the WF, but disregarding the fact the WF dying was totally unrelated, he paid the price, he lost his stank and died and the enemy stole it.

Doing that trick with any other hard damaging vehicle like an arty/mrls/stank isn't good anyway, ever, those tanks are too squishy and die to fast.

Even doing it with a havoc/med is balanced, how else are you to combat flying vehicles, flying vehicles > tanks every time, even if the person flying isn't great.

Also the friendly fire stuff doesn't even work anymore with the arty+e fire trick, hasn't for years, so it doesn't make much sense that was somehow the reason for it?

Jumping out of a tank to kill some infantry with a sniper/rail/anything has never been enforced, that is just basic gameplay that is in other FPS games with tanks like battlefield(hell you even have additional RPGs on your character in that game to get a one up against other tanks, its the same thing!).

imo abandon the rule, its hard to moderate, and places an unnecessary limitation on gameplay that everyone has access to do and isn't "bullshit" by any means.

In summary, the rule of "Tank + Firing your gun" needs to be really ironed out & defined here. Or any rule with such a gray area. From what I read, it is being worked on, and if not....it should be.

April, we've been playing a long time together and I respect you, you're a good player, but you probably could tone it down a little bit lol. You & I both know, you could be every bit as an effective player if you decided to become a mute lol. IMO, players like that...who destroy people, but don't give in or communicate back when someone whines, would drive those whiners even more mad. You're also exciting to play against as a very offensive-minded player! I turtle, we all know this lol. 2022 has drawn out my inner-camper.

Also, and this is directed at no one specifically, if you're going to be a mod, you need tough skin. As a matter of fact, ignoring people sometimes, will be your best friend.

I also don't know how the hell you people sometimes remember every little thing someone says about you. You must not be playing the game.That's the only logical explanation. Hell, I barely have enough time to keep up with my own teams chat, let alone public chat. That just shows those players in game aren't there to play, but to argue.

I have stated multiple times that the rules (especially this one) need to be rewritten to cover specifics and I just got shunned off.

I don't really see efire being used to the extremes that much anyway. 

• April could work on the hostility a bit, regardless of situation; being an ass to an ass doesn't make the situation better, just worse. You do get carried over sometimes.
• Shit happens and not every player's move is focused on your skills like you constantly bicker. Recourse of an action can be based on actions not related to your mouse clicks.
• Chill with the narcissisms. No I'm not saying RC mods are perfect, but neither are you.

 

• Mud, welcome to being a mod, there is part to the reasons why some people have turned it down, a lot of flames for silly stuff.
• You'll never make 2 sides to a situation happy. People will complain, I agree on the thicker skin comment by mass.
• If a player is getting on your nerves, perhaps vent to another mods/admins/forums unless you're beyond certain that actions need to be immediate, to prevent opinionated moderation.

I want to clear up 1 thing up. I was not just speaking for myself when I was referring to April and his toxicitiy. You have only recently been playing for the last few months, Aprils shit been going on since I came back a year + ago. Up until he was muted, maybe a few months ago. It was constant shit talking to his team/anyone who got in his "way". Calling them "cancer" "pos" I can't even remember tbh, I just know I got really sick of seeing it after a year plus. I think it's one of the reasons I even wanted to be a mod, was to try to rid the server of people like that. Also add in glitching/cheating that we continue to allow and I don't really think it's "opinionated" and a lot of people who don't even use the forum would agree.

That's the wrong reason to become a mod.  I really didn't want to keep commenting on this thread, it's tiring so this will be the last thing I say.

Not justifying myself when I say this, but 1-2 years of being toxic is nothing compared to the lifetime of "cheating" accusations (like mud just did in his last sentence), and mod abuse threats I get for over 10-15 years, a good bulk of which happened in this community. If anything it's almost reasonable, but then again I don't expect you to understand bc you probably will never get the same level accusations/nasty pms that I've been getting on a day-to-day basis since 2007. Before you comment that people are simply reacting me to my attitude, anyone who looks at my older 2015-2016 vids will see that I did try to ignore the nasty stuff, but that rly never helped. Anyone must be stupid to think that they can call me a hacker/cheater and expect from me sweet treatment or words of affirmation.

Bottom line is, I don't care what regular players think or say to me, in fact they make my vids more interesting if they rage; but when a mod or admin starts waving his/her authority dick like a social reject just looking to unleash the banhammer with no real reason, then I have an issue. I started streaming/recording mostly everything to appease some mods and players that I once held in respect because they were constantly bitching about hacks; but again nothing that you ever do will be enough for haters. Funny how I can barely setup a server, but apparently to some I'm some sort of genius who has managed to develop a private AB/TB that can't be detected by any Ren anticheat ever invented. I even invited those select mods that had their suspicions to jump on my machine using teamviewer in 2019-2020, but some preferred to keep crying instead of taking my invitation. I'm not talking about you here mud, I'm talking about the previous mod generation, and prob even the generation before your previous generation.

yeah imagine trying to explain yourself and stating that since you´ve been muted you haven´t been toxic anymore. yeah no shit sherlock, that´s why you were muted in the first place. and you´re still trying every trick in the book to get around it and play victim instead of reflecting and changing your actions. you could do that if you wanted, you just refuse to do it.

i want to behave like an asshole while playing a videogame, mods please look somewhere else so i can continue to do that. it´s not whatever, it´s annoying and ruining the fun for people. which is the reason they come to the server in the first place.

i´m not even advocating for banning you completely, and i´d also unmute you in a reasonable timeframe if i had something to say here. but for your own good and the rest of the rencommunity i think you really should try to become less obsessed with this game, with how people react to you and most importantly stop trying to paint yourself as a victim all the time. you´re doing too much bs to warrant that, regardless what others might get away with. in regards to the cheat accusations, why does it make you so mad? every player at your level gets those all the time. geko and ill are embracing them writing things like "turning hax on now" in the chat etc. like why do you care so much? do you want a trophy for your amazing sniping skills? this game is over 20 years old.
