AnThRaX
I have been running renegade on my computer and I have hundreds of new games I can run on ultra 1080p settings, and in renegade I get 1000+ FPS most of the time (GTX 770, I7-4770, 8 GB of RAM, etc) but the game is constantly freezing causing me to get killed, or messed up. Is there a reason for this? Do I need a fresh install? I have been running the same install for about 10 years I believe. I have the newest scripts and everything, it just runs terribly on my "new" PC when I can run fallout 4 on ultra in every setting and get 100+ FPS but can't run a game from 2002 nicely, it's kind of frustrating. Joetorp
1000+ fps? maybe too high a frame rate?
vlatkozelka
D4rkz used to have the same thing on his GTX 780 , we tried everything ... what helped most was Vsync . Please no comments about how 1000fps is much better than 60.

DJEYEK
Im assuming you run a Multi-CPU, does it happen when u use the Task-Manager to set only 1 CPU for the Game.exe?
masscarriers
The problem is with the frame rate, Renegade runs on an old version of w3d which causes wierd glitches when fps is too high. Some people here casually play between 300-500 without problems, but 1000 might REALLY be too high. Turning Vsync on will solve your problem, try it and see if game performance is not affected too much.
shaitan
I hated vsync, never used it...until my r9 card. Try that as they said.

D4rX
Yeah, it reminds me of my own issue with 1200+ fps, turning on Vsync fixed it, here is how the problem looks like: Though you say freezing? It was more stuttering in my case, sounds like you have a different issue I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96UJRA2g79k Edited November 30, 2015 by D4rX

AnThRaX
I'm going to try a fresh install, does anyone have a renegade serial they could PM me? I used the renegade serial changer to check mine but I'm pretty sure I regedit'd it at some point because it's not letting me install the iso. Goztow
We looked a bit more into this. Seems like Anthrax has had performance problems running games on his SSD. Renegade is not on his SSD but the appdata/roaming/renegade/ttfs directory is. Could it be that it freezes when trying to read those files? I suggested he !disablesounds on a standard map and sees if that helps.
AnThRaX
!disablesounds does not infact help.
